Here's how to make homemade soda

Creating the fizzy refreshment is really simple. Not kidding!

The main ingredients of the recipes are fresh fruit syrup and sparkling  water. For this recipe, we'll use fresh fruit (whichever is your favourite), and simple syrup (you can use honey or sugar).

To make the simple syrup, just combine either 1 part of honey/sugar to 1 part water. Heat the mixture over medium high heat until everything is dissolved, and let it cool until use later.

Next step: Adding your fruit. Whichever fruit you prefer, you have to either juice them (fruits like oranges, lemons, lime), or blend them together (strawberries, cherries, grapes, lychee, etc).

After breaking down the fruit, strain using a fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth. If you like sodas with pulp, you can leave some of it in. Add your simple syrup, the ratio depends on your sweetness liking, but ranging from 1 part syrup to 3-5 parts juice. You can also omit the syrup if you prefer your soda lightly sweet, but the syrup does help preserve the solution a little more. Transfer the mixture into a airtight bottle, and chill in the fridge.

Once ready to serve, just combine the homemade fruit syrup with sparkling water to your flavour liking, and serve on its own or over ice!

Super Easy Right!

The juice can keep for probably up to a week in the fridge, but they're so delicious they may not even last a day.
